Temperance (テンペランス, Tenperansu) is a mild-mannered young woman introduced in Magical Drop III as a mid-boss.

Appearance and Personality

Temperance has short orange hair and small wings. She wears a yellow hairband, pink shoulder-less dress, and a choker. In Magical Drop F, she wears a hat and a dress that exposes her cleavage; in her transformed state, she wears a blue dress and regains her headband.

She is generally depicted holding two jars. Unlike Star's jars, which pour onto the ground, Temperance's jars pour water between each other. (Said water defying gravity to do so.)

Temperance is a soft-spoken young woman. She is depicted as being in constant drowsiness. She has a large crush on Hierophant.

Magical Drop III

Temperance can potentially be faced as either the eighth or ninth opponent, depending on the path that the player takes. In her arcade ending, she wishes to be able to look into Hierophant's heart, but becomes bored by the kind of thoughts that he has. In her console ending, she decides that she doesn't need anything at the moment and saves the Magical Drop for later.

Magical Drop F

Temperance is the 15th opponent of 1P vs. COM's hard difficulty. Her starting item in the game is a pillow, which puts her opponent to sleep for a short time.

Magical Drop VI

Temperance is a playable character in Magical Drop VI, unlocked if the player clears Puzzle Mode.

Trivia

• Temperance is referred to as "Modesty" multiple times in the English PSX version of Magical Drop III. Unlike Luck, she retains her original name on the character select screen.
• Temperance, along with Death are both voiced by Yuka Tokumitsu in Magical Drop F.
• Temperance may remain absent in Magical Drop V, but World can use her background from her debut in Magical Drop III.
